Meet Emily

I was born in Japan and grew up in Colorado Springs and Madison, Alabama, in a close-knit family that shaped so much of who I am. After earning my associate’s degree from Calhoun Community College, I went on to complete my bachelor’s in nursing at the University of Alabama in Huntsville.

I met my husband when I was 18 while working at a small bagel shop in Madison. He was a Madison firefighter at the time and stopped in every morning for a bagel and eventually, for me. We dated for five years before getting married in November 2016.

Today, we live in Huntsville with our two boys, Jack and Henry, and our dog, Charlie. I began my nursing career in June 2016 in the Huntsville ER, where I have cared for some of the sickest patients and gained invaluable experience on the front lines. Since December 2019, I’ve been part of the Level 1 Trauma Team, a role that has deepened my passion for trauma care and pushed me to grow as a nurse.

As I look ahead, I’m excited to begin exploring the wellness side of healthcare and continue expanding the ways I can support others.
